Drew Kennedy Releases Acoustic Video of “24 Hours in New York City”

This candlelit acoustic video of Drew Kennedy’s “24 Hours in New York City” is the perfect setting for quite the story he has to tell…and we can’t get enough of it! Filmed, edited, and produced by Dave Brainard for deciBel Productions, the intimate video features Kennedy performing the piano-driven track from his latest album, At Home in the Big Lonesome, stripped-down to a Gibson guitar. The song was written by Kennedy and Sean McConnell and is a combination of the two “…plunging headlong into a trove of memories sporting the beautiful patina of two decades-worth of nostalgic sweetness,” according to Kennedy.

Learning more about the inspirations and stories behind songs is what we love. Kennedy also told us, “Well, imagine turning sixteen and getting your driver’s license and then in a wonderful cosmic coincidence a girl– a girl that is way out of your league– just happens to tell you that she’s always wanted to see the Big Apple. And you’ve seen it. You of course tell her you can show it to her, and she jumps at the chance.”
