“Drive” Along with Trent Cowie [Single Spotlight]

Texas Country up-and-commers Trent Cowie Band released new single “Drive” on May 1st.

The single was recorded at Melody Mountain Studios, produced by Josh Serrato and Ben Hussey and mastered by Nick Landis. “Drive” is heavy on electric guitar with licks reminiscent of Kody West and Koe Wetzel instrumentation.

“I wrote this song five years ago and revisited the lyrics,” Cowie said. “It’s actually the first song I ever put any chords to. I feel like it’s something worth sharing now, even after all this time.”

“Drive” is a good top-down, volume on 30 while goofing off with your friends kind of tune. Yet, the single’s melancholy subtlety makes it easy to get lost in thought while focusing on the song.

“It kind of has a storming off feel to it,” Cowie said. “Imagine [it’s like] ripping off the rear view mirror and driving until you run out of gas.”

You can find “Drive” on iTunes and Spotify and add it to your summer playlists.
