Our spotlight shines on Baytown native, Breelan Angel this week! “Rhinestone World” moved up to #80 on the Texas Regional Radio Report and added four more stations! The single comes on the heels of Top 20 single “She Made Your Bed”, and is the title track off of her recently released EP.
The song speaks of remaining true to yourself while pursuing your dreams, and hits on some of the struggles other female country singers have faced in the wake of staying authentic. Angel brings up some strong points about the facets of the industry that female country singers are subjective to, and sends a strong message with the track.
“In the music business especially, there is a standard for what we should look like, act like, be like and some are okay with that, while most women I meet, are not. This song is solely inspired by the women who have gone against the grain and did exactly what THEY wanted to do. Women like Loretta, Dolly, and Tammy will forever be some of the most memorable women in the history of country music and, for me, “Rhinestone World” is a tribute to them and women all over who follow their gut and heart when chasing their dreams.” Angel said.
We really dig the intimate feeling of track, due to it being recorded “live from the living room”! The live touch resonates with the listener on just how personal and important this song is to Angel, and it really drives the message home. The track is powerful, yet, graceful; which, we feel, is exactly what she was going for. This is one of our favorite tracks from the record, and we’re expecting it to do well!
Currently, Angel is promoting the new EP by planning a radio tour for the single and gearing up for shows across Texas. Also, stay tuned as a music video is planned for this fantastic song!
