Our spotlight shines on Shane Barnhill this week. “Pain” moved from #73 to #69 on the Texas Regional Radio Report, adding +25 spins! Written by Jason Rooks and Bobby Terry, the song was cut in R&R Studio in Lake Jackson, TX. Barnhill told us “I chose this song because I felt like it’s what country music is missing right now. ‘Pain’ is a true country song with a message we can all relate to — for me that’s what it’s all about, relating with the listeners.”
This one has been on our radar for a while and we’re happy to see it shooting up the charts. From the moment we heard it a few months ago, we knew it was hit! The songwriting is about as good as it gets, Barnhill’s vocals are great, and I love the way it was produced! From the intro “I’m the reason you stay sober, I’m the reason that you drink” to the last one of Barnhill’s “paaaaaaaaaiiin”’s, the song captivates you. The steel guitar, piano, and the vocal arrangements set the tone perfectly and relate the story of “Pain” to the listener perfectly.
Barnhill’s last single “Still Sexy to Me” charted as high #57, but this one should go a lot higher! This one is definitely good enough to crack the Top 20 and hopefully it goes even higher than that! Help us get it there by requesting it on your online and local radio stations.
