With the previous single, “Acuna“, back in the Top 10 of this week’s most streamed on the Texas/Red Dirt Singles on Spotify, Wade Bowen’s got another one for us! This week’s spotlight shines on “So Long 6th Street”, another release from his upcoming album “Solid Ground” to be released on February 9th. This new ballad is described as a “nostalgic reflection” and will make anyone who’s ever made memories on Austin’s 6th Street reminisce. Bowen, who was once a resident of Austin, also sings of (and to) the Live Music Capital’s iconic Antone’s Nightclub as one of his long-lost loves.
Bowen is known for his heartfelt ballads and this track is just that and more. The blend of his classic sustained notes and new unique accordion-flare instrumentals, together create a somber yet upbeat love story you crave to know more about. We really dig it and are expecting it to be a new favorite sing-along for fans of this long-time beloved Texas artist.
Written by Wade Bowen himself along with co-writer and producer, Keith Gattis, the new tune also features the vocals of familiar Texas native favorites, Miranda Lambert and Jack Ingram. And, this is only a tease of the contributions that will be featured on the upcoming album full of honest storytelling weaved through Bowen’s creative sound. The trio on this ode to Austin just makes sense and will have you swaying.
Welcome back, Wade, we’ve been waiting for you…for so long.
