Texas Music Discussion Panels to be Hosted by Texas Music Pickers at this Year’s Steamboat MusicFest

Up-and-Coming Artist Workshops Presented by Texas Music Pickers

We’re excited to announce that we’ll be conducting two 75 minute workshops at Steamboat MusicFest this year on January 8th & 9th at the Media Lounge inside the Steamboat Grand Hotel from 2:30 – 4:45. Both days we’ll have a panel of industry folks (booking agents, talent buyers, management, radio promoters, artists, etc…) discussing topics about the Texas Music Scene geared towards helping up-and-coming musicians navigate the landscape of the industry.

Each session will include a 60-minute panel discussion followed by a 15 min Q&A with the audience. Many of the industry folks will also stick around to help answer any questions you might have.

Jan 8th – Marketing

  • Best practices for social media, email, and tour marketing.
  • Where is marketing headed?
  • What are some of the biggest mistakes new artists make?

Jan 9th – Booking

  • Getting your foot into venues
  • Getting support slots from established artists
  • Booking

Every year, Texas Music Pickers hosts a Texas Music Seminar in College Station that gives artists and aspiring industry folks two full days of information and resources by industry experts
as well as opportunities to network and jam together. The seminar centers around entry-level questions and answers in the form of presentations, speeches, panels, moderated Q&A, and audience Q&A. While the bulk of the content will revolve around the Texas/Red Dirt Scene, all most all of it will be relevant to pretty much any independent country, bluegrass, Americana,
folk, or southern rock musicians.

Texas Music Pickers will be bringing a condensed and free installment of their seminar to MusicFest 2020. If you’re an up-and-coming musician or new to the industry, here’s your opportunity to walk away with powerful insights and actionable knowledge from some of the movers and shakers in the scene!
