CMT.com just premiered Whiskey Myers’ new Philip Guzman-directed music video for “Dogwood,” the new single from their Dave Cobb-produced album, ‘Early Morning Shakes,’ that’s the sound of “Led Zeppelin set in northeast Texas” (Wall Street Journal).
Director Guzman explains, “Being young is tough. You have very little power or control over decisions that directly affect your life and who you may some day become. In “Dogwood”, I wanted to examine the relationship between a boy and a girl, and a father and a son.” Whiskey Myers guitarist John Jeffers adds, “We just enjoy making videos that tackle real life struggles that happen to regular everyday people on a day to day basis. When my grandmother went to college I could only imagine how tough it was with mostly pen and pad to keep in contact with the one you love. We wanted to paint and portray that kind of picture in this video.”
Whiskey Myers are currently on an extensive summer tour, including a show with Lynyrd Skynyrd in Houston (8/23) and several dates with 7Horse in September.
