It’s no secret by now that there was a leak of Dropbox files containing songs from Koe Wetzel’s upcoming album and those files have been passed around thousands of times (we estimate 30,000-40,000 times). You don’t have to search social media feeds long to find someone who claims to have the album already, but we hate to break it to everyone, no one actually has the album. What do they have? According to what Koe Wetzel told us last night, “they have demo’s from 2017” and “they don’t even have all of the songs”. Meaning what people have heard are incomplete tracks, scratch vocals, very little production etc… and only a portion of the tracks. Sure you can have an idea of what to expect on some songs, but for the most part (like with most projects) the difference between the demos and the finished tracks is almost always pretty substantial.
So for those who are feeling like you’ve missed out on something, trust me you haven’t except for a few rough, incomplete, unmixed and unmastered songs.
