Hunter Hutchinson Looks to “Keep Rollin’ On” With New Album

Hunter Hutchinson just released his new album “Keep Rollin’ On”… and wow, we’re impressed! We thought the Abilene, Texas native’s 2015 debut album “What Do You Say” was pretty decent, so we we’re expecting a solid sophomore album…but we weren’t anticipating our expectations being completely blown away!

Recorded at Rosewood Studios in Tyler, Texas with Drew Hall and Greg Hunt, Hutchinson’s goal was to “make a record that [he] loved.”

“When we went in the studio I was asked what kind of record I wanted to make. I said ‘I didn’t care what kind of record we made I just wanted to record these songs that I loved, whether they turned out rock, honky-tonk, or folkish’ ” he told us.

Here at TMP, we think the 10 track album is a perfect example of fresh and authentic modern country music!  With up-tempo honky-tonk, somber heartbreak, and everything in between, Hutchinson covers nostalgic college days, love, heartache, perseverance, good-timin’ – beer drinkin’, and more.  The alluring southern vocals, pristine production, and rich instrumentation provides fans with a full and captivating listening experience!

The sophomore album is generally the place where artists showcase their growth and development and demonstrate how they’ve evolved from their first effort. Not only is the maturation evident in this project, the spotlight has vastly expanded on just how much talent and potential this up-and-comer has!

Most notable is the progression in songwriting; especially in standout tracks “Grandpa’s Saddle” (Hunter Hutchinson, James Rosenbaum) and “What’s Left of My Heart” (Hunter Hutchinson).  The illustrative writing, depth of the lyrics, and crafting of the story shows just how far he’s come since the debut effort.

Our *PICK* of the album is “Some Things Never Change” (Hunter Hutchinson, Randall King).  The track intros with hard-driven guitars and then mellows to Hutchinson painting rich, analogous pictures over soft rhythm and subtle fiddle licks. The fullness of the track kicks in as it rolls in to the rhythmic chorus and hooks the listener in it’s grasp for the rest of the song.  Good luck not hitting repeat as soon as the song is over. And not only is it a damn good song, it has KILLER radio single written all over it!

We think Hutchinson is about to make a big jump with the record in his catalog now, and encourage you to go ahead and hop on the bandwagon!  The album is available on all the digital outlets, so if you haven’t checked it out yet, then give it a spin and let us know what you think!

Be sure to request current single “Summer Love Song” on your online and local radio stations and take a listen to our favorite track from the album, “Some Things Never Change”, below!
