What better way to end a wild summer than with some dancin’ tunes. Singer/Songwriters Triston Marez and Logan Samford (formerly of Shotgun Rider) will both release singles this Friday to kick off their duo tour, Neon Nights.
“Wish I Could Dance” is Marez’s anthem for the stool warmers, the bar hoggers, those who politely turn down dancers with “oh, I wish I could dance, but I don’t, honey.”
Beginning strong with an ensemble of pedal steel, solid drum beat, fiddle, acoustic and lead guitars, this single screams for spinning around the dance floor. The fiddle and keys are just soft enough to add dimension to a fast paced tune.
“Lovin’ for the Last Time” is Samford’s debut slow beating single. Vocals are filled with that twangy smoothness we’ve loved with Seven Miles South and Shotgun Rider. Lyrics “this feels so right” is a great representation of Samford’s solo career.
This tune is a love declaration for those hopeful romantics. Lead guitar takes a shredding solo towards the end of the single while pedal steel stays true to Samford’s neo-traditional-esque sound.
Both of these singles mingle with radio-ready quality while remaining in the Texas Country scene. Samford has been streamed over 30 million times while Marez’s recent EP has hit over 1.5 million since January. This dynamic duo’s tour has 10 set locations with additional select dates to be announced.
Marez also has an upcoming residency at historic Coupland Dancehall with series “Acoustic Sundays with Triston Marez and friends.” The next residency dates are August 18th and September 15th. Rebecca Creek Radio will also live stream each residency event.
