Davis Alan has certainly marked a spot on our radar! We premiered his song “The Flood” to a great response back in November, and now we’re excited to bring you another new tune that’s sure to be received just as well!
Recorded in Stephenville, TX with Josh Serrato, Ben Hussey, Hank Early (Turnpike Troubadours), and Shane Boeker (Ausitn Meade), the tune came while Alan was searching for the last song of his upcoming record. “Cleto [Cordero] and I were hanging out on the main stage of LJT after watching Koe Wetzel play that night at T-Birds. It was amazing to see such a small community gather around and sing every word to every song. We looked out over an empty Melody Mountain Ranch and it gave us something to believe in. It can happen to anyone” Alan told us.
We really dig the message of this one, here at TMP. Alan does a great job exploring the feeling one gets when finding inspiration in music. When we feel like all is gone, there’s something magical about music that can push us into resurgence. We love the way the crisp production and upbeat music fits the track with a sense of rejuvenation without overpowering the lyrics.
So far we’ve been impressed with everything we’ve heard from Stephenville up-and-comer, and are eagerly anticipating the upcoming full-length record! Follow Davis Alan on social media for updates, and grab yourself a copy of the song tomorrow on all your digital retailers, but in the meantime enjoy a sneak peek of “Something to Believe In” below!
