Single Spotlight, Love Edition: Corey Hunt Band’s “Wild Heart Gypsy”

A song for the love-struck wild ones, the Corey Hunt Band blessed us with a new, upbeat single “Wild Heart Gypsy” just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Beginning with a foot-thumping tempo, it doesn’t take long to catch yourself day dreaming of a rolled-down Cadillac sunset drive with the one you love dancing in the seat next to you. Produced by Kyle Mann at the Speakeasy Sound studio, Hunt wrote “Wild Heart Gypsy” about the night he met his wife Hannah. This event inspired some of his other songs including “Hannah Belle” and “We Were Gone.” In the latest single, Hunt describes love in a hopeful, uplifting way with an inspirational chorus:
Don’t mistake us for a burning flame.
We won’t burn out, we won’t bend or break.
The wind’s gonna blow and the water’s gonna try to run through,
But nobody’s gonna love you like I’m about to.
Even if the listener isn’t already romantically involved, “Wild Heart Gypsy” sets up a new standard on how to love someone. Hunt writes from emotion created by specific events. “It’s an upbeat, happy, and fun song,” Hunt said. “I think that in the history of me, [meeting my wife] was a defining moment; every moment after was different.”
The Corey Hunt Band has produced songs like “Song About Saturday Night” which have made it into the 30’s on the music charts, but the band is excited for a new chapter: an upcoming six song EP. “I think it’s by far the best thing I’ve been a part of at this point in my career,” Hunt said about the EP releasing Mar. 6th. “Only time will tell.”
Let’s help the time fly faster by calling your online and local radio stations and requesting “Wild Heart Gypsy.”
