Single Spotlight: Prophets and Outlaws – Texas Home

paoOur spotlight shines on Prophets and Outlaws this week!  “Texas Home” moves up to #45 on the Texas Music Chart and adds +34 spins!  Written by font-man, Matt Boggs, and recorded with Bart Rose at Fort Worth Sound, the song has a great background to it and shows the softer side of PAO. “Matt wrote it with his Papaw in mind. He was an inspiration to Matt and helped shape the course of Matt’s life, as so many Papaws have done for their, generally southern, grandchildren. It’s a song that hits home with a lot of southerners from Texas to the Deep South. It is a song about our extended Texas family and all of the great things we’ve gotten to see and do in our home state”, the band told us.

Boggs knew he had written and impactful song when he was approached by a towering oilfield worker after a show one night in Fort Worth, who wiped the tears from his eyes and said “I also buried my Papaw and he meant the world to me.”

We love the relatability the song provides, and the openhearted message the lyrics convey make this song easily embraced by its listener. The sincerity in the vocals makes the track feel warm, genuine, and honest.  Boggs’ smooth voice guides the emotion of the song and it’s one you want to play again as soon as it ends.

This song is the title track off of the upcoming album, set to release May 4th, and follows the previous single “Shine on Me”; which made its way up to #28.  We think this one is headed to the Top 20 and we want you to help us get it there by requesting it on your online and local radio stations!
