Our spotlight shines on one of our favorite up-and-comers: Shane Smith and the Saints. “Dance the Night Away” jumped from #74 to #61, adding 57 spins this week on the Texas Regional Radio Report. Written by frontman Shane Smith, and Produced by Bob Gentry, the track features vocals from Ryan Engleman (lead guitarist for Turnpike Troubadours), Liz Foster (The Trishas), and Kelly Mickwee (The Trishas). Smith told us “This song is about heading to the type of parties that, when growing up, made me want to write roots music. It mentions real friends and situations that bring back great memories for me and hopefully will make the listeners want to dance.”
This song stood out to Texas Music Pickers due to its fun energy and unique style. The tune’s vitality puts a smile on your face and a tapping to your boot. The production pops off the track and you can feel the raw emotion of a warm Texas night full of music and dancing. Smith’s distinctive vocals and the exceptional combination of instruments make the track refreshing. It’s new, it’s fun, and it’s good. What more are you looking for in a single?
