So How Did Koe’s 2019 Go? – A Look at the Numbers

Koe Wetzel is obviously one of the most polarizing musicians in our scene.  2017 was a year of emergence for the Pittsburg, TX native and 2018 was a rocket-ship ride.  2019 held a massive leak of dropbox files of the tracks for his album, the launching of that album, playing self-titled festivals in Mexico and Fort Worth, making headlines for his language at a balloon race, being on the cover of the Texas Music Now Spotify Playlist, a lot of rowdiness, a lot of craziness, and a lot of noise.
Sure there was hysteria, outrage, hype, criticism, and everything in between this year, but what do the numbers say…? Do they contradict or support the buzz? Is it just a Texas thing? Just how many tickets is he actually selling?
Well as the saying goes “the numbers speak for themselves”…
  • Based on sales through the end of the year, the band is on pace to sell just over 125,000 total tickets across the country in 2019
  • 55% of the ticketed shows they played this year sold out
  • 79% of those shows were outside of Texas
  • Sold Out their inaugural destination trip to Mexico
  • Sold Out the Koe Wetzel’s Incredible Music Festival in Fort Worth, TX at 10,136 total tickets as well as selling out the Koe Wetzel’s Incredible Music Fest in Lindale in March of this year.
  • More than 120 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music in 2019 ALONE

And if that’s not enough Wetzel and Parker McCollum are currently in the middle of the Naughty or Nice Christmas Tour that has sold out every show; netting the duo 11,300 tickets sold!

So, yeah…I’d say the proof is in the pudding!

Buckle up, because who knows what 2020 will hold for Koe, his band, and the party that follows.
