South Austin Rockers, Copper Chief, Win Initial Round on Real Country

The USA Network just debuted a brand new television show called “Real Country”.  The show’s website describes it as “a new country music showcase series featuring multi-platinum, five-time GRAMMY Award-winning trailblazer Shania Twain, ACM Award-winning and platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jake Owen and multi-platinum, GRAMMY Award-winning country music legend Travis Tritt.”

On each episode, Twain, Owen, and Tritt select aspiring artists to perform competing showcases with the winner of each showcase receiving $10,000, a performance at The Stagecoach Country Music Festival and a spot in the show’s grand finale.  Last night’s episode featured Texas rock band, Copper Chief, who were selected by Travis Tritt.  Not only did the band receive some high praise from Tritt, after competing against The Young Fables and Adairs Run the South Austin rockers were the winners of the first episode!

Looks like we’ll have a reason to watch the Grand Finale!

“Real Country” airs at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays on USA Network and other notable acts that will be featured on the show that are a part, or are connected to our scene, include:  Bri Bagwell, Scooter Brown, Kylie Frey, and Porter Union!
